More Than a Gut Feeling
Understanding the Hidden Dialogue Between Your Digestive System and Mental Health
One of the areas I’m most passionate about is the connection between gut health, mental health, and trauma. Often overlooked in traditional therapy, the gut-brain axis plays a central role in how we experience emotions, regulate mood, and manage stress. Our microbiome—the complex ecosystem of bacteria living in our digestive system—communicates directly with the brain via the vagus nerve. This means that imbalances in gut health can show up as anxiety, depression, brain fog, chronic fatigue, or even a deep sense of disconnection from the world around us.For clients dealing with long-standing physical symptoms like digestive issues, skin flare-ups, or inflammation, I offer space to explore how these may be intertwined with unresolved emotional patterns. Many people I work with have spent years trying to “fix” symptoms in isolation—only to discover that when we begin to listen to the body with curiosity and compassion, healing begins to unfold on many levels at once.
